What is Shredder Fly Fishing’s makeup policy?
If you intend to miss classes, please inform Shredder via text (preferred), phone, or mail as soon as possible. We do our best to accomdate missed classes as availability allows.
Please schedule make-ups with us at an agreed upon time/class – please do not show up to another class without contacting us!
Should I drop-off or should I stay with my child during class?
We encourage parents to drop-off anglers to help them become comfortable with independence while learning the skills and knowledge of fly-fishing. This also helps the kids to completely focus their attention on our instructors during class. Parents are welcome to stay in the class or camp area during class time.

What happens during a typical class?
FUN and LEARNING! Every class will consist of activities and games, designed to teach fundamentals such as casting, knot tying, river management, safety, entomology and fly selection in a fun and engaging way. Classes will rotate stations to work on various skills and techniques.
What is Shredder Fly Fishing’s cancellation policy?
Drop In Summer Camps and Class Cancellation Policy:
If you sign-up for drop in summer camps or classes and need to cancel for any reason, the following policies apply:
Cancellations more than one week in advance of your scheduled dates, will receive full credit value or full refund of purchase.
Cancellations less than one week in advance of your reserved dates/times will receive full credit value for your purchase within the 2023 prescheduled camp date range ending Aug 18 2023.
Date changes/camp transfers must be requested within 48 hours of registered dates/times. Date changes/camp transfers requested less than 48 hours in advance will be subject to a $15 rescheduling fee.
Granby Ranch requires a $50 on-river rod fee for each angler, no matter the age, and is included in the registration fee and is non-refundable.
If you do not show up for your camp or class day and do not make us aware of your intended absence, you will not be refunded or receive credit for missed camp days.
Camp Packs (5 pack and 10 pack) are non refundable and non transferable. All camp packs must be used in the summer of the year purchased.
Guided day-trips (Walk/Wade & Guided day trips):
We fish rain or shine as scheduled. You must purchase fishing licenses for all anglers 16 and older.
Cancellations or no-shows on the day of the fly fishing trip will be billed in full for the day.
Cancellations due to dangerous weather, as determined by our professional guides or as Colorado Park & Wildlife determines, will be rescheduled to take place within one year from the date of the original trip.
A 50% deposit is required upon booking. Guides can be requested.
Trips must be scheduled at least 3 days in advance
A full refund of the deposit, less a $20 cancellation fee, will be issued for guided fishing trips, canceled more than one week prior to the trip date.
Guided fishing trips that cancel less than one week up until 48 hours prior to the trip date, will result in the forfeiture of the full price of the deposit.
Guided fishing trips that cancel less than 48 hours, or in the event of a “no show”,will result in the forfeiture of deposit and remaining trip balance.
Unfortunately, bad weather is a part of fishing sometimes. Our guided fishing trips proceed regardless of weather or water conditions, unless unsafe, as previously stated. Inclement weather or undesirable fishing conditions are NOT acceptable reasons to cancel and have a deposit refunded. In the event of dangerous conditions, Shredder Fly Fishing reserves the right to cancel the trip. In the event your reservation is canceled due to unsafe conditions, you will have the option to apply your deposit towards a future trip within one year, or your deposit will be refunded.
What should I bring to class?
All fly fishing gear is included when you enroll for a session (this include rods, reels, flies, leader, tippet etc.) If you do not have wading gear (waders and boots) we provide both. We recommend wearing comfortable or athletic clothing, such as shorts/leggings/sweats and long or short sleeved t-shirts. Feel free to bring your own gear!
